Learn how to support athletes nutritionally while promoting healthy food relationships and ensuring overall health needs are met. We will provide tools for preventing, identifying, and addressing disordered eating/eating disorders and introduce you to Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), with an emphasis on female athletes and menstrual disturbances. We will also address athlete-specific body image concerns and discuss how to cultivate a supportive, empowering environment for athletes.
About our Presenters:
Greta Jarvis
Her experience as a lifelong athlete paired with specialized educational and professional training has informed a deeply-held belief that all athletes deserve a healthy relationship with food, their bodies, and their sport. Greta received her BA in Latin American Studies and Public Health from Occidental College, holds certifications such as Integrative Health Coaching from Duke Integrative Medicine and Intuitive Eating Counseling, and will graduate with a Master of Science in Nutrition from NUNM June 2019. Greta’s own business, Nutrition for Good, helps women discover authentic health, peace, and freedom amidst a diet-and-weight-crazed world.
Kristin Kinnie
With a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work, Kristin worked in the school system for over 15 years working primarily with at-risk youth and their families, specifically focusing on youth experiencing homelessness and financial insecurity. Recently, Kristin is pursuing another career in the field of holistic nutrition and will be graduating in June 2019 from the National University of Natural Medicine with a Master’s of Science in Nutrition. Kristin is excited to merge all of her experiences into a new career, working to help people feel their best through the healing power of whole foods while fostering a healthy relationship with food and body.
