Welcome, all! This is the first Student Life Happenings post of the year. Student Life Happenings exists as a regular reminder for ALL things NUNM, especially those can’t-miss events at the end of the week. Check back on My.NUNM for these every Wednesday through the term. Here’s what you can expect for the rest of Week One:
Soup + Conversation
The Office of Student Life is proud to bring back one of its signature programs: Soup + Conversation. Join Dean Allen, Tyler, and friends in the Student Kitchen on Thursday from 12-1 to break bread and discuss campus issues. Vegan curry soup with forbidden rice is provided on a first-come/first-serve basis. Bring your questions, comments, concerns, and compliments!

Global Climate Walkout
This week, hundreds of strikes and walkouts have been planned across the globe to protest the continued use/reliance on fossil fuels. NUNM will be walking-out in support of this movement on Friday, Sept. 20 at 10:30am. For those who’d like to stand in solidarity, we’ll be meeting in the Min Zidell Garden.

CLAP-IN
One of NUNM’s most important traditions, CLAP-IN is the campus community’s chance to celebrate the incoming class of students. This year, we’ll be celebrating CLAP-IN on Friday, Sept. 20 from 12:30-1:30. NEW STUDENTS will congregate in the WEST PARKING LOT while everyone else can head to the East Parking Lot. A pizza lunch will be served after the procession. Come and make some noise for our new peeps!
Friday, Sept. 20, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. | West Parking Lot (new students)
Correction: Global Health Trips
Every so often, there is an error in the Weekly Willow that needs to be addressed. Those will be listed here at the bottom of the Happenings posts. This week, we reported that SGS was accepting applications for trips to Ghana and Tanzania. This was meant to read “Ghana and Thailand.” We regret the error and apologize for any confusion.
